Global climate change is one of
the key concerns of the 21st century, with serious implications
for societies, environment and economiies. The manifold and
interdisciplinary aspects of climate policy make demands on
the public institutions and companies concerned which can only
be fulfilled by a holisitc approach.
ACM (Austrian Carbon Management), the only interdisciplinary Austrian services platform,
has been initiated by Denkstatt GmbH, iC projecte GmbH and EEC Energy and Environmental
Consulting GmbH and includes experts in the fields of economy, natural sciences, law and technology.
Together with companies und public institutions AMC develops strategies for these new challenges.
Under the Kyoto Protocol the industrialised countries and the
transformation countries have for the first time committed themselves
to a specific reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The EU
has agreed to a reduction of 8% (compared to the year 1990),
while Austria has committed itself to a national reduction of
13%. The implementation of the Kyoto agreement brings about
new obligations both for the public sector and the private industry,
but it also opens up new opportunities. |
